Capital and Ecology, a Tension Worth exploring — My Reason for Writing

A Gradual Realization

In recent months, one question has been increasingly on my mind: What can the economic system still do in the face of the ecological crisis?

As a social sciences student with a passion for economics, I’ve often encountered these two worlds — business and ecology — as if they were fundamentally opposed. And yet, everything suggests that they must now do more than coexist: they must learn to cooperate.

Ambiguity and Complexity

On the one hand, corporate discourse is booming — carbon neutrality, CSR, green finance…
On the other, the numbers on our climate trajectory remain just as alarming.

This tension — between stated commitments and real transformation — strikes me as one of the defining intellectual and political challenges of our time.

Why a Blog?

I created this blog to organize my thoughts, deepen my readings, and share what I’m learning at the intersection of economics, business, and the environment.

It’s a way for me to take a stance, to learn in public, and to contribute — in my own small way — to a conversation that has become essential.

I’ll be publishing case studies, critical analyses of corporate strategies, reading notes, and breakdowns of regulatory or policy developments.

The tone will be personal, informed, at times provocative, and always seeking nuance.

Margins of Maneuver?

I chose to name this site Strategic Latitude because that’s exactly what I aim to explore:
Where are the spaces for action in a world of constraints?

If this question resonates with you, welcome.
